Asp net ajax onupdating
For the gmail progress indicator, the On Updaing animation runs a piece of Java Script that calculates the bounds of the Grid View that is contained within the Update Panel and renders an HTML DIV in the upper right hand corner of the Grid View control. After the update occurs, the On Updated fires and runs another piece of Java Script that hides the DIV.
The technique of hiding and showing the image also remains the same as we had discussed in Method 1.
To achieve this, I am using the Update Panel Animation Extender control that is part of the Ajax Control Toolkit (You can follow directions here to install and get started using the toolkit).
This control allows for defining the visual effects you want run before (the On Updating animation) and after (the On Updated animation) the contents within the Update Panel have been refreshed.
When the user initiates a postback by clicking on the button kept inside the Update Panel, we set a delay of 3 seconds.
To display progress to the user, we handle the Initialize Request at the client side and set the to visible.
This tutorial shows how to set up such an animation for an Update Panel.
